On-Roof Solar Installation – Vale of Glamorgan

This project involved the installation of a 32-panel on-roof solar PV system with battery storage on a residential property in the Vale of Glamorgan. The client wanted to significantly reduce energy bills while future-proofing the property with a full solar and storage solution.

We installed 32 × 440W all-black solar panels, delivering a total system size of 14.08kWp, paired with an 8kW SolaX IES hybrid inverter and 10kWh of battery storage. This combination provides a powerful and efficient setup, allowing the property to generate, store, and intelligently use its own energy.

Due to the steep pitch of the roof, this was a more challenging installation. However, our experienced team planned and executed the work safely and efficiently, ensuring a high-quality finish throughout.

The addition of battery storage allows excess energy generated during the day to be stored and used in the evening, significantly reducing reliance on the grid. The system also enables the client to take advantage of off-peak tariffs, charging the battery at cheaper rates overnight and using that energy during peak times.

The result is a high-performance solar and battery system that maximises energy generation, increases energy independence, and delivers long-term cost savings — all while overcoming the challenges of a steep roof installation.
